From Tin Artwork to a Premium 72-Color Pencil Set: The RAGI OEM Packaging Case
Launching a premium art supplies line is rarely just about the pencils. For emerging brands, the packaging is the first product the customer sees — and for a set meant for retail shelves and gifting, it has to do a lot of work. This is how Polish art supplies brand RAGI (ragistore.pl) developed its 72-color premium coloured pencil set with H&B's OEM team, from concept artwork to a finished, retail-ready tin.
A Hero Visual That Sells the Set Before the Box Is Opened
RAGI's brief was direct: develop premium metal-tin packaging for a 72-color coloured pencil collection, with a strong visual identity suitable for retail and gifting. The final artwork answers that brief with a detailed chameleon illustration against a deep black field — a fitting hero for a 72-color set, since the chameleon is one of nature's most colour-rich animals. A green accent system carries through the tin, the pencil collars and the typography, and the set's line, "Timeless color. Endless creativity.", sets the tone for the whole pack.
What "Custom" Actually Covered
This was a full ODM engagement, not a simple logo print. The scope included:
- Tin artwork design and the black-and-green premium visual system
- Brand placement and product naming across the pack
- Product benefit communication — rich, vibrant and highly pigmented colours; smooth and easy blending; break-resistant core
- Barcode and back-panel information set in six languages: English, Polish, German, Romanian, Italian and Spanish
- The internal pencil presentation and layout
- A branded kraft outer carton for retail logistics
Why the Back Panel Matters More Than Brands Usually Think
The back panel of the RAGI tin carries product warnings and information in six languages — the same block a European retailer's compliance team will check before listing the product. For brands selling across borders, this is where many first-time launches stall: artwork that looks great in one market but fails labeling requirements in another. Developing the multilingual back-panel information as part of the packaging project — rather than retrofitting it — keeps the set retail-ready from the first production run.
The Result: A Retail-Ready Set, Tin to Carton
The approved artwork went to production and came back as a finished metal tin with the chameleon hero visual, the six-language back panel, and a branded kraft carton outside it — a complete, shelf-ready 72-color premium coloured pencil set for RAGI's retail and gifting channels.
